Who we are and what we do

SEEC - who we are …

SEEC is a registered charity formed in 1985, and it was the first higher education consortium for credit accumulation and transfer (CATS) in the United Kingdom. SEEC is a membership organisation, and its membership includes a significant number of the universities in the south that are funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).  Its membership has grown recently to include private higher education colleges and some professional associations, and there is a new category of individual membership available for colleagues whose institutions are not members.

SEEC meets regularly with representatives of the other credit bodies in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland as the UK Credit Forum, which also provides an opportunity to influence European and other international developments.
