Advocacy for credit, through consultation

SEEC is able to use its members’ expertise to respond to consultations from a range of authorities.
For example, SEEC members were invited to take part in the UUK Burgess Group consultations arising from the 2003 HE White Paper The Future of Higher Education. Members contributed to the SEEC collective response with specific emphasis on the implications for and implementation of credit-based practice.

SEEC’s responses to previous consultations can be read on this website, under the Consultations tab on the menu bar.

SEEC promotes links and collaborative ventures between members, employers and professional bodies and other credit consortia opening up market opportunities in the UK and internationally. We actively encourage strong links between higher education and further and adult education to widen access and increase participation of under-represented groups.

SEEC, as a consortium of influential institutions, is well positioned to attract project funding to assist development.  We would also encourage members’ smaller scale research projects which might be supported through targeted funding. If you would like to get in touch with other members to discuss this potential, talk with the SEEC Governing Council representative from your institution first (there is a list of GC members under the Governing Council tab in this drop-down menu). If you are an individual member, contact the Chair, through the SEEC Administrator's email address.
